To check your Administrator privileges or to sign in as a local administrator, head to Start > Settings > Accounts > Your info. While neither of these methods fixed our particular issue, there certainly seems to be enough evidence around that the method may work. Make sure you are the Administrator, or set up a local AdministratorSome have reported that some games downloads will get the 0x80070005 error if you are not currently running Xbox (Beta) or the Store as your system Administrator, while others say you have to specifically open the App as a local Administrator (as in, a PC user not logged in to a Microsoft account) and only log in to Xbox (Beta) once it has opened. Games seemingly affected by this issue include Vampyr, Hollow Knight and Undertale, though it's unclear if every user has the same experience. This is where we found that players could download some things, and not others - most often getting the 0x80070005 error code. Log in to your XGP linked account and you should see a dedicated store for your Game Pass games that can be downloaded on PC. You can get the Xbox (Beta) app from the Windows Store. This is where I first found success with a few of the games, if not all of them. So if you're having trouble with the good old Windows Store, download the Xbox (Beta) app and try and download a game from there. If the Store isn't working, try downloading the Xbox (Beta) appĪs far as we can tell, the Xbox (Beta) app is supposed to be where we will eventually browse and download or Xbox Game Pass for PC games once this stumbling launch period is over.

Warning - sometimes there's a reason Microsoft haven't rolled out a new Update to your system yet, and it might be because there's still some tinkering to do. You can skip the queue and download the latest build directly from here.
If you're not convinced you have the latest Update from the automated service, it may be that it hasn't officially rolled out to your area yet. From there, you may seem some updates already pending, or you can select "Check for updates" and see what the program throws back at you. To use the on-board Windows Update tool on your PC, just click your Start button, and then go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update. So if things break, first check that the next Update won't fix the problem. As Microsoft continue to try and integrate all of their services, it's sensible to assume that future Windows updates could change how the Store works and therefore how XGPPC works. Despite rolling out Xbox Game Pass for PC in mid-June, the functionality to download the games within it was included in the ironically named May 2019 update, which didn't come out for several days after XGPPC's launch. If you are aware of a solution, I would appreciate your input.Almost as redundant a piece of advice as "have you tried turning it off and on again", nevertheless it's worth checking you have the very latest public version of Windows on your machine. I am awaiting a response from the gentleman that wrote the blog post for Microsoft that outlines the change. So far I've been unable to find any kind of documentation and my handful of forum posts have gone unanswered.

Something that takes into consideration new Windows 10 user accounts on a business pc but I do not know what that is. I'm thinking Microsoft must have an alternative that I am unaware of, It is not a personal pc so it should be set up with a work email address instead of a personal email address. The computer I'm setting up belongs to the organization I work for. It only allows personalĮmail addresses when creating a new user account. Microsoft has made a change (click on link in my original message) that prevents users from creating new accounts that use work email addresses.
